The Poetics of Gender article on Arachne--writing as textile RE: Barthes...contrast to Deleuze-Guatarri's discussion of felt (i.e. gambling surfaces are inherantly nomadic because of their random composition and tapestries getting again at the idea of striated vs smooth.)
